What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy comes from the Latin word “meso,” meaning “middle.” It is a procedure in which amino acids, minerals, enzymes, and vitamins that the skin needs are injected into the middle layer of the skin using a micro-needling method, either alone or in combination. Today, mesotherapy is recognized worldwide as a complementary medical technique used in many areas, including pain, hair weakness and loss, skin rejuvenation, localized weight loss, skin lesion treatment, and cellulite.

With the mesotherapy technique, the dosage of treatment given to patients and side effects associated with medication have been reduced, while effectiveness has been increased. When looking at the products used in skin rejuvenation, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, organic silicon, products that support collagen production, dutasteride for hair, biotin, aminophylline for fat breakdown, caffeine, phosphatidylcholine, glutathione, which we benefit from for its antioxidant effects, and mixtures containing vitamins A, C, and E are preferred. Mesotherapy aims to improve skin quality, delay aging, and directly inject the necessary vitamins and amino acids into the skin.

Instead of waiting for anti-aging creams and moisturizers, which we have been using for years without knowing what they contain, to be absorbed by the skin and work, mesotherapy is the most effective method that is precise and targeted. Methods such as youth vaccines, Paris glow, salmon DNA, and PRP, which many of you have heard of, are all mesotherapy methods. What we need to pay attention to and what the client should inquire about is the quality and brand of the product. There is a wide range of mesotherapy products, and their quality varies. For this reason, when I recommend mesotherapy to my clients, I always specify the brand of the product. I advise you to be aware of this and not to have low-quality products injected into your skin.

Whether mesotherapy is painful or not varies depending on the area being treated and the product used. For example, when applied with a good anesthetic cream, youth vaccines, salmon DNA, and Paris glow are completely painless, while hair mesotherapy and spot mesotherapy can be slightly painful. After the procedure, there may be minor bruising and redness, but these will completely heal and disappear within 2-3 days. It is advisable not to use blood thinners before the application. I do not recommend applying makeup for the first 24 hours after the procedure. It is also necessary to avoid hot baths and saunas. It is very important to protect yourself from the sun and use sunscreen.

Mesotherapy is administered in sessions. The recommended number of sessions varies depending on skin type, but it is typically 2 to 6 sessions at 2-week intervals. When performed regularly, mesotherapy, which takes approximately half an hour with anesthesia, provides us with the opportunity to age gracefully and maintain a fresh, vibrant appearance. Paying attention to water intake, sleep quality, and nutrition also plays a crucial role in this process. My primary goal in mesotherapy is to free individuals from foundations and concealers that block the skin’s ability to breathe daily, contain numerous toxins, are absorbed by the skin, and give the person a dull appearance. I wish you love for your body, love for yourself, and the best care for it.
